I have iTunes 10.2 and an iPod 4. I turned on Home Sharing in iTunes, and on my ipod and made sure my details are correct, but i cannot get it to work at all.
There is no "shared" option showing up on my ipod for music and i tried using the remote app, but that doesn't work either.
Thanks.

I have Partial Sharing - some of my stuff such as a few movies, a few podcasts, are sharing, and most music, but not the TV shows...? Weird. All are in the library, which iTunes manages.
Only music though, not pictures (which is apparently part of it).
I turned my firewall off, even though i had opened the ports Apple told me to in the support pages on here. And then i had a wifi issue (which has been ongoing, in that everytime the screen went off, it wouldn't connect to the internet and i had to turn the wifi off and on again). So, i reset my router and re-entered my Apple ID in the home sharing settings and "Shared" magically appeared in my library!
Since then my firewall has now turned itself back on and it's continuing to stream without a problem. I still have no pictures though (?)
So i'm not sure if anyone else here has an old router / wifi issues / firewall, but try it 🙂
I have a similar problem. LAN to LAN works, but LAN to WIFI does not.
I’ve enabled home sharing on a Windows 7 64 bit PC with the firewall disabled. On my iPhone I can’t see the share. After that I’ve enabled my laptop to view the share. On WIFI it does not work, but with the LAN to LAN it works. All the PCs firewalls are disabled. I’m using a Netgear DG834 router. I’ve also temporarily disabled wifi encryption and the Qos. The routers wireless isolation is also off. Does anyone have a similar problem?
I can't get my iPhone 4 or iPad 2 to see my shared libraries on my home wifi network. Yet my mac air and mac mini happily share libraries. All apple equipment. Have powered the pad and phone down & up - no joy. Any idea what gives?
