Is there still no way to disable this stupid boop whenever you send or receive a text message?
Does Apple still not understand the concept that "none" means "no", "zero" as in "when I send a text message it should be utterly silent"?
I've always had it since the iPhone 3G, I like an audible cue that my text has been sent and when a new one has been received. If I'm in a rapid exchange of texts I'd rather hear the "whoosh" than the text tone I've assigned.
Prior to 4.2 there was no sound. When it was set to silent, it was silent. In 4.2 they introduced a forced sound. Even when set to "none", it makes a sound. If I wanted to hear a sound, I'd set it to a sound. Why do they even call it "none" if there is clearly a sound there?
