I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with the graphics issue. I thought something went wrong with my iPod after I updated...

Make sure you all report it here as I did:

I have not heard a single thing and my problems are getting worse. It's more than just that one screen now. Icons like wifi and loading indicator now are flickering.

What so it's spread to more than just the lock screen?

Apple will HAVE to do something about this soon, imagine buying a new iPod touch with iOS 4.3 on it and seeing all of those graphics issues. I'd take it back to wherever I bought it immediately.

Does anyone know whether this is affecting all iPod touch 4th gen models with iOS 4.3 or just a small minority (i.e. us)?

Installing this 4.3 update has been nothing but a nightmare since I clicked on the update tab in iTunes this morning. Right now the iPod has passed the "update/restore" stage, this is after being on a continuous loop of update/restore or "this ipod cannot be restored" for hours. Now it seems to be updating my library along with it's name (it was going by "ipod" for a while there). I can only imagine what it's going to do once the syncing is complete.

Why didn't Apple test this update beforehand?

I am having all the issues as everyone else plus mine is pixalating in squares almost like it's screen is goin bad. It's all bed since the update. I really hate it! I don't check this site often so I may never get a fix to it but I hope by posting this that maybe someone will get their issues resolved

It seems to be okay for now, after about five hours it finally got out of that loop of doom ("update/restore") and updated and restored. Backup saved my contacts and my notes, but I had to reinstall some apps which I previously only downloaded onto the iPod (and not my laptop). Not sure if the movies/tv shows/music/books will work properly, wifi seems to be okay, but one of my picture files has disappeared.

Bit wary about clicking on any update in iTunes now. I did send a report to apple about this, not sure if they'll read it, but it was worth the effort if they do.

Does anyone know how much RAM you have had before and after the update? I downloaded an app that was recommended from another site from the App Store called "SYSTEM MONITOR" and it actually tells me the amount of RAM Memory, HD (FLASH) RAM and the number of processes running.I managed to disable as many processes as I could but I ended up with 24 running processes and only 32% free. 79.7/247. That's not a lot of free RAM memory.

Another problematic software update, but I don't really blame them, technology isn't perfect, and even though people expect the best out of Apple, mistakes are made, they aren't forcing people to upgrade, people choose to, I wait till forums like these show up, so I can make the decision whether it's best or not, the point being, relax people, Apple made a mistake, a fix will show up eventually.

I have the weird graphics problem that everybody is talking about. Sometimes the display shows up some noise on the screen randomly. I have to click the lock or home button few times to fix this up. I tried reset and restore several times but still the problem is there. This did not bother me that much but later on I found out more horrible problem: THE LINE OUT (HEADPHONE) IS NOT JUST WORKING!! Sound can came through internal speaker and the iPod dock that I bought, but not through the headphone socket! This is too bad issue as when I see this problem, I just loose my mind and temp to throw my iPod. These problems was not there before the iOS 4.3 update; 4.2 was just working fine. I now regret that why did I go for 4.3 update - I could hit "ignore" for update confirmation in iTunes and enjoy peace of mind!
