Xcode 4 "Loading a plug-in failed"

Paraphrased, the remainder of the dialog says that the plugin may be damaged and may need to be re-installed. Needless to say, re-running the installer (from the App Store) doesn't help.

Console log says: Error loading /Library/Frameworks/EWSMac.framework/EWSMac67108872: dlopen(/Library/Frameworks/EWSMac.framework/EWSMac67108872, 265): no suitable image found. Did find:\n /Library/Frameworks/EWSMac.framework/EWSMac67108872: GC capability mismatch

Anyone care to help furrow my brow for me please?

Hi! You are not alone! Same issue here.

Even when holding down shift, when launching Xcode does not help. Still same error.

Did you checked installation log file? /var/log/install.log

I will remove (sudo /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools –mode=all) Xcode and will try to reinstall and going to trace installation for errors. Maybe somethings goes wrong at installation time.

Maybe this thread is useful?

Try make a backup of /Library/Frameworks/EWSMac.framework and then remove it.

This is a third party library (from eSellerate) and it looks like you have a version installed which is not compatible with the rest of your system (probably it’s for PPC).

What is an EWSMac.framework?

Go to Application Enhancer Preferences Pane in Settings, then add XCode to exclusion list of Application Enhancer. XCode 4 will start and run fine. No need to do anything with eSellerate and no need to remove Application Enhancer too

Hope this help

I reccomend to test, wich plugin actually causes the problem, because Application Enhancer plugin probably cause problems with other apps too!!. After disabling Application Enhancer at all, I noticed that some apps, which eariler crached occocionally (rare cases), dont crash anymore at all.

So, Application Enhancer makes Mac OS apps unstable.
