iOS 4.3 Running Sluggish?

Huge array of problems here!
I have been off attending tattoo conventions I return home and itunes has a update avail, so I opt for it...
MISTAKE #1
I also upgrade to ios 4.3
MISTAKE #2

Im getting pushed out of apps...
can not send picture messages...
battery problems...
Im tired of this garbage...
who is responsible for testing out this stuff before it is releases to the public and makes perfectly good iphones turn to frustrating devices

NOW ON TO THE ITUNES ISSUE..
when I SYNC the cell to itunes it freezes up on step 5 of the sync
freezing up the complete itunes program..
not too good

Huge problems here as well. Phone was working perfectly B4 the 4.3 upgrade.

Screen shake
Frozen and/or sluggish apps
Native OS apps sometimes won't open.
Scrolling freezes or doesn't work at all
Buttons freeze
Wrong characters appear when typing
Camera freezes

I could go on.

My phone seems sluggish at times but no other problems. Everything works fine with it.

I had been having problems with YouTube videos, as in, they'd load the first ten seconds and then stop (if Im on wifi, on 3G it just says file type not supported-even if I have watched it before on the phone)..

So I saw there was an update to the OS and went with it. Thankfully I didn't have the same problems upgrading as mentioned here. But if anything, the problems have just gotten worse since I went to 4.3. The net runs slower, apps are more sluggish. Can't watch any streamed content whatsoever. The keyboard is lagging more. The battery has decreased.. I frequently kill all the apps in the task manager just to try and resolve it but it doesnt do a ******* thing.. Have restarted, doesn't make any difference.. And in light of the experiences recounted here I have little faith in a system restore..

The reason I got an iPhone was because I'd heard about how stable apples OS's were, how reliable etc they were famed to be... And for the first while I had the phone I would have agreed. Now I'm starting tothink the phone software is about as reliable as windows.. And I'm sure we'd all agree that's no good..

And why should we have to pay for tech support when it's Apple that messed up? If they can't get their ***** in gear and test the thing properly then they really are heading down the windows route..

Definitley disable PING. Worked for me. gave me my performance back!

Got to agree - Disabling Ping makes a difference - doesn't solve it but much better.

Battery life is slightly worse for me but manageable.

After a few days of trying to work through this, it's becoming completely clear that this is a ridiculous situation for an end user to have to deal with...

I have an appointment at the Apple store tomorrow. I'm basically going to hand my 3GS to them and say, "Here. You fix this".

Agreed. My battery life is TERRIBLE after that upgrade. It's life is half or less than it was before the update. I have to charge it every day...previously every couple/three days. My usage has not changed.

Ok i've tried restore number 6 (3 from new) and no resolve. I actually called Apple and will go into the Apple store tomorrow and hopefully get this resolved in another way.

4.3 is a useless, pathetic update for the 3GS and Apple have really mucked up on this.

I love the way people generalize from one experience. The plural of "anecdote" is not "data" (thanks to Ben Goldacre).

If 4.3 is such a disaster why does my phone work better all around than it did on any prior release? Better battery life, faster browsing, and no problems noticed?

Congratulations that your iPhone works better now! Unfortunately that aint the case for the rest of us and if you dont have anything helpful to say, I suggest you move onto a different post.

Wow. This is nuts. Today, every problem that I've posted about here is gone.

I didn't do anything to the phone. I put it on the charger last night and went to bed. I got up as usual this morning, unplugged it, and left the house. Even the battery problem seems to be OK.

I rescheduled my appointment at the Apple store for next week in case any of the problems come back.

I'm kind of suspicious about the fact that it was so horrible for a few days and then suddenly everything is fine, but I'll have to watch it and see what happens. We were even seeing crazy stuff last night like the phone locking itself and the battery life displaying "39%" one minute and then "90%" the next minute.

If I didn't know better, I would say that Apple pushed out a background fix last night that fixed some problems, but I doubt that....I don't even know if it's possible.
