iOS 4.3 Running Sluggish?

Does anyone else have this issue? It reminds me on how my old 3G preformed when I upgraded to iOS4.

Basically scrolling is jittery and not smooth, everything is slow.

I reset holding the home and power button combo but never did any good.

3GS, iOS 4

That would be a restart, not a reset.
Reset is done via the settings menu.

Have you tried restoring from a backup or restoring as new? Those are the next steps in troubleshooting the issue.

It could be a simple matter of something not loading properly when the update ran and restored from your backup.

Incorrect... no Settings needed for a phone Reset. Settings are used for other types of reset though. What the poster did (that you responded to) was a reset, not a restart, as per Apple's description...

Yes. iPhone 3GS has become sluggish after iOS 4.4 update.
I feel that sluggishness even when unlocking the phone while taking incoming call.

Apple decided to kill 3GS users and force them to upgrade to newer models.

Is there a way to go back to 4.2.1? Please tell.

There is no advantage of 4.3 to 3GS users anyway. The Nitro JavaScript engine is said to be faster but not noticeable.

In addition to being sluggish, the notifications being turned on drain the battery much quicker than with 4.2 iOS. Noticed battery drain yesterday after upgrade so charged it to 100% over night. Within 1 hour battery was down to 90%. Turned off notifications and 4 hours later, battery is at 87%. Not sure which app is so active or if its the real issue but I believe only iOS was upgrade yesterday.

Can confirm UK iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3 is sluggish. I've noted apps slow to start, pages slow ro refresh, and 'recently opened apps/multitasking' toolbar slow to appear.
Can't say I've noticed any difference with battery life but, to be fair, I haven't run a 'typical' day yet.

So far the iPhone update not good, the ATV2 update not good (I've posted in the appropriate forum for this) - not a terrific time for Apple just now. Both pieces of my hardware latest models and performance downgraded by a faulty update. I'm not happy being a beta tester - I depend on this kit.
