Hi everyone -

Yesterday I was running iTunes on my computer, the battery was at 97% and everything was awesome. Suddenly, it shut itself off and now refuses to turn back on. I left it charging overnight in the hopes that it was just messing with me and all it needed was a bit of battery charge, but no dice. When I press the power button absolutely nothing happens, no front light, sounds, nothing. I've never had this happen before and was hoping someone could shed some light on the problem. Thanks in advance!

Also, I put that the OS is 10.5.4, but that's just my best guess, I can't remember which exact update I have going. Hope this doesn't make or break any advice you can give.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Same thing just happened to me! I have the front light but nothing else! I had just turned it on, but it was not recognizing the air card. I thought that was weird, so I shut it down to try again.....and nothing....

What did they end up recommending for you?

This happened to me in class today. I had just charged it the night before and all the sudden it wouldn't turn on or anything! I freaked out and left class to see what I can do. It turns on only when it's connected to the power adapter and the battery icon in the top right says "not charging" or has an "X" on the icon. This is what my battery info reads:
    Charge Information:
    Charge remaining (mAh): 0
    Fully charged: No
    Charging: No
    Full charge capacity (mAh): 0
    Health Information:
    Cycle count: 0
    Condition: Normal
    Battery Installed: Yes
    Amperage (mA): 0
    Voltage (mV): 0
I have no idea what cycle count is... Does anyone know?

My MacBook Pro is less than a month old and it won't turn on! It was working fine this evening but the battery was low, so I plugged it in and now two hours later, it won't turn on. The power cord is showing the tiny green light now, it was only the tiny red light at first. There are no other lights visible while it's open but when I close it, a small white light at the front turns on.

I hope someone can give me an idea what's going on with this. Thanks!

I have the same problem.  Brand new Macbbok pro with problems.  First the hard drive crashed even before registering; It was replaced for free under warranty. Now, month later suddenly won't turn on.  what a nighmare. Should have got a regular notebook pc.  I'll go to the store tomorrow and let you all posted.

There are many treads on line about Macbook problem of the same kind. Do you think there might be virus and they are not telling us?

Well, we took the computer to the store. They plug it in their system and worked fine. The power source was gone bad but was fixed on spot

Also, sometimes the plug gets loose and have to push it in its socket.
