PCMCIA vs Express Card

Hello

I have a MacBook Pro from about 2005 - I want to add Firewire 800 capabilities and think the slot on the left hand side of the body is the best way to do it but I can't find out anywhere if I need to get an Expresscard or a PCMCIA card - can anybody help?

It's an express card slot. No MacBooks have ever had PCMCIA slots. Although... there were no MacBooks in 2005 either. Are you sure you are talking about a MacBook and not a PowerBook? PowerBooks (which were available until the beginning of 2006) all had PCMCIA slots.

Will add Firewire 800 capability to my laptop.

I guess I must have bought it more recently than i thought - it is an Intel MacBook Pro

Might want to consider this one:

from a very Mac-savvy vendor. Belkin products have not always been Mac-friendly--some work, some don't. I wouldn't buy one unless someone posts that they have the exact model and it works fine for them.
