I was able to crop my albums but somehow some of my main albums will not allow me to crop them now, almost like they are write protected or some security is on them now.
You don't crop albums. You crop photos, so I assume you mean that you have albums in which all photos that you have tried to crop, will not crop.
Is it them correct to say that you are able crop to some photos, but not all?
Albums are not the "storage place" for photos; Projects are. What happens when you look at your photos from the point of view of the project?
Do you have referenced photos? You cannot do adjustments on referenced photos whose masters are not currently connected to your computer.
Of course you don't 'crop albums' you crop images than may be in an album, I'm guessing this is what you mean.
How are you prevented from cropping the images? Is the tool grayed out or are you getting a message from Aperture? Can you do any other adjustments to the image? Are these images referenced?
Aperture won't allow adjustments to images whose masters are offline. If you provide more information we may be able to help.
thanks for your help.
I was just using the cropping album wording to imply that all photos in the album will not allow cropping.
I do use bootcamp, I installed window 7 this past week (was xp) and had to reload all my directories , I think I was using referenced photos, I am starting to suspect that when I loaded the files into aperture I may have accidentally used the bootcamp version and those links are broken now to the original files.
I will delete an album and reload it from the apple side of the disk and this I suspect will solve the problem. XP file system was readable by apple but not now because of NTFS.
thanks for the idea...kim

This information is crucial. Where were the Originals of your Aperture Images before you altered your file folders?
If your Originals are referenced, you _must_ use Aperture and use _only_ Aperture to move or rename them. The only operation on your Originals that you don't use Aperture to do is to back them up.
