Lyrics in iOS 4.3 (8FF190)

All my songs have lyrics and the correct artwork.

When playing randomly on iPhone 4 with the lyrics displayed (I like to see the lyrics while the music is playing), the song will play to end and when it advances to the next song, the lyrics do not show.

You must tap the screen once to return to the artwork display, then tap again to show lyrics.

If you manually advance a song, the lyrics stay showing as expected.

I think you might noticed that 4.3 has a new fade-in/fade-out animation effect for lyric background, before 4.3, the background just become darker suddenly and lyric jumps out. That's why we are having this issue.

Seems no solution until next iOS upgrade.

Apparently, Apple should do more test before release a new version, or let user have a few days cooling-off period to downgrade, otherwise, another good reason to JB.

I'm having the same problem, and also a similar problem.
I have a lot of music videos as opposed to actual song files. (I listen to foreign music so it's hard to purchase, plus let's face it, videos and shining lights are cool.)
So I like to set the lyrics for the music videos as well, since sometimes I won't watch the video and just sing along (or try to).

Since iOS 4.3, I can't display the lyrics– they show up in iTunes, but not on my iPod. Lyrics on audio files work fine, but not MVs.

Does anyone else have that problem?

Truthfully, I'm less than impressed with the stability of this release. It seems way too rushed. Bad job Apple, it could have been a lot better with more testing.

[edit] Wait, could it be the text encoding in my case? Some odd combination of encoding and video files? This is frustrating 😟

My collection of music videos has the same problem with disappearing lyrics, after the iTunes 10.2.1 update. (I also like to sing along, or just follow along, with the lyrics while the music video plays).
This is annoying, especially because a similar problem with disappearing lyrics surfaced after the iTunes 9.1 update. It's like deja vu all over again! Last time, we had to wait for a new iTunes build.
sigh

Hi, I'm an Ipod Touch 4gen user.

I'm having the same problem. After I upgraded to iOS 4.3, the lyrics appear OCCASIONALLY when playing audio file. Then I upgraded to 4.3.1, they NEVER appear.

I've tried to convert the ID3, deleted the songs, re-sync and restart my Ipod.. not working.
Finally, rather than downgrading the iOS, I restored it to factory setting, then restore the backup. It works, but sometimes I have to tap the screen to make the lyrics properly displayed.

I hope Apple fix this bug in the next iOS upgrade. It's very annoying!

If there are graphics glitch or battery life problem in iOS 4.3, then 4.3.1 worth a try.

-------------

Here's what happened to lyric in 4.3 or 4.3.1,

In 4.2, when you choose a song to play, lyric will pop up with no effect.

In 4.3, lyric will pop up using a fade-in effect, you can find the background become darker and lyric is displayed.

In both 4.2 and 4.3, when you scroll the lyric, there is a fade-out effect on the top which past lyric will become darker and disappeared.

The problem in 4.3 is, if song A is finished and song B is the next song, song B's lyric won't load, unless, you have loaded song B before.

(Let's try this, load song B => B's lyric displayed => go back to playlist => load song A => finish song A => automatically go to song B => this time song B's lyric is loaded)

Another solution is, if song B's lyric is not loaded, tap the screen twice (close lyric, and open lyric).

But the problem is, for both solution, the fade-in and fade-out effect I've mentioned above are not working at all for song B, which is annoying.

I don't think is a text encode problem as iTunes using UTF-16(Unicode) for non-English ID3v2 and ISO-8859-1 for English ID3v2, and they both works well before iOS 4.3.

-------------

I don't know why Apple don't fix this and another movie laging problem in 4.3.1, I'm wondering are there any Apple staff actually read any message in Apple Discussion and report them and I'm also wondering are they doing any test by themselves before release a new iOS.
