Q: looking to make an HFS+ volume larger than 16TB w/o using XSAN

I have a few XSAN deployments in my environment but what i really want to know is has anyone ever taken some type of storage sub system larger than 16TB, plug it into an fiber channel HBA on a xserve and create a usable HFS+ volume larger than 16TB without using XSAN?

Never had a need for this until now.

intel xserve, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

I would guess that there is a plethora of DAS (direct attached storage) devices out there that will give you 48TB plus.

Try Promise - if you need further help, post a reply and I'll see if I can find something constructive for you.
