Everyone: Please, if you have time, can you take a picture like I did so we can all compare?
Thanks! Take the pic with the flash off under dark lighting and make sure something dark is on the screen.
Also can you please list the model iPad 2 you bought (ex: mine is the AT&T white 16GB).

If you have this problem too, just some advice -- I think it's logical to wait a few days and see if it goes away or not. I would say 3 days is enough -- to see if it really is the orange glue stuff evaporating or whatever, or it really is light leakage and a defective unit.

Light leakage on my black, 64gb 3G-AT&T unit. Very disappointed. The leakage is on the bottom. I will take a photo soon.

I have yellow glowing leaks at the bottom of the screen in three locations and one at the top left. I spent nearly a grand all in with the smart case for this IPAD2... My first generation IPAD does not have any leaks and just feels like it was built better. I think apple is rushing to beat wall street's expectations these days and cramped too much in too little time. This new "thinner" and "lighter" IPAD might very well be made "cheaper" - I am very disappointed. Not looking forward to dealing with the tired looking boring genius bar guys now...

In addition to the light bleeding at the bottom of my 16gb white 3G, there's a green stuck pixel in the middle of the screen! How aggravating! Bought at Target in Brooklyn. Going back first thing in the AM, though I doubt there'll be any left to exchange.

9to5mac is also reporting about the yellow tinting and light bleeding that users are seeing on their iPads ( and has a picture that look similar to the light leakage I see on my iPad. 9to5mac says the light leakage/yellow tint should go away in a few days.

I have this same problem as well. A lot of light leakage at the edges and a stuck pixel. I'll have patience for a few days and see what happens. If it doesn't correct, I'll have to replace it. It is very distracting when using any app or video that is dark.

Go to YouTube and search something along the lines of 'Stuck Pixel Fixer' and try to fix it that way if you have a dead or stuck picture. Sometimes this can work.

Macrumors stated the yellow tinting may fade after one or two days, but this might be different. ay-like-iphone-4/

I've been using mine for a few hours and the bright spots have gotten much better. The bottom no longer bleeds more when pressed on. I think this is the glue issue seen on other devices and will go away.

The light leakage issue on the iPad has been around since last year. Every iPad 1 that I have ever owned and seen has had this issue to some extent. The bottom line is that I have owned a few iPads and ALL OF THEM HAD Yellow and White LIGHT LEAKAGE ISSUES. It might be less noticeable on some devices, but this issue has been around since the iPad 1. I wish that Apple would sometimes listen to its customers before releasing updated products. I have notified Apple about this issue multiple times last year. I waited 5 hours in line today hoping that this light leakage issue was resolved in this version of the product, and all I can say is that it is even worse than before.

Apple iPads last year also had an issue where the left side of the screen was slightly brighter than the right side.

Almost all LED and LCD screens have some white light leakage issues, but I have to say that the iPads exhibit an abnormal amount (plus its yellow in some areas of the screen). The flashlighting or light leakage can be seen when looking at dark backgrounds or black user interface elements under lower lighting conditions.

I bought two. Black 64 gb wifi and white 32 gb. I have the black and the wife has the white.

I was pretty upset when I saw mine which is noticeable on the bottom right. I complained to my wife until I saw hers. Its leaks light on every side. We both upgraded and upon checking our old ones I could not find a single instance of this problem on both units.

Having just spent $1420 plus tax (including covers) it is hard to express my disappointment. Glad to see others have the problem (and sorry too).

I will try and attach pictures. Hope it goes away but not holding my breath. Not sure what to do since I could get a worse one like my wife's.

(after looking further mine is very similar to bens but on the bottom right)

Sadly you are going to have to wait awhile to get a replacement, since the orders are so backed up.

I'm certian Apple already knows of this by now, but keep putting in feedback about it to speed up a fix.

I think it goes beyond light leakage guys. My Ipad1 has no light leakage like my Ipad2 which does. Mine has some on the lower right (it's a black unit).

BUT, and I'd like some of you to try this test, I don't believe this display is of the same quality as the original and I'll tell you why. Run a movie trailer on both the 1&2 side by side. I'm finding the colors on the 1 are more saturated and warmer. I'm also finding the 1 has a bit more contrast that can be seen in darker scenes. On a letterboxed movie you can clearly see the top and bottom bars on the 2 whereas you can't on the 1

I tried the trailer for Battle LA for the test. The warmer & richer colors of the 1 can even be seen by just looking at your home screen. I'm curious if you guys see this too. I do video professionally so I may be more sensitive to these issues.
