Too many nasty people in here.
doug
NiqueXYZ was just asking you a question.. He didn't cuss at ya or insulted anything.
I too think you seem to post same messages over and over. Are you trying to get attention or something because you live in Japan?... ha ha. We've got your message so you don't have to worry about posting it again. Thanks.
To all,
I feel you guys should not just rely on serial numbers or batches... we are getting inconsistent results so far. I think you have to be chosen by God to get yourself a perfect one. So I suggest you pray to God. I have a strong feeling that most of all iPad 2's that have been produced have.... should I say.... *IMPERFECT* screen, meaning there is some level of light blooming / bleeding. Severe or light, it's manufacuring defect.
Thanks,

May 19, 2011 11:02 AM in response to goodolcheezby NiqueXyZ,Yeah honestly I wasn't trying to be nasty or anything, I just kept getting updates in my email and I saw the same message posted by doug like 10 times (that he bought one in japan and it's fine). It's cool thugh I get it, people don't want to go back and read the whole thread... Honestly can't believe it's 67 pages now....still nothing from Apple about this...even LG has copped to the defect...but not Apple...doubt they ever will either

May 20, 2011 4:51 PM in response to Chriscicby LionmanPortugal,Got my third ipad2 with serial number DLXFK1.
Same light bleeding problems.....just dont know what to do. Probably I quit.

May 20, 2011 6:08 PM in response to LionmanPortugalby NiqueXyZ,I quit a long time ago -- and it looks like things are only going to get worse -- http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/20/explosion-at-foxconns-chengdu-plant-injures-s everal-could-affe/
There isn't a jailbreak for the ipad 2 yet though -- so I guess I'm not missing out on much...the cameras suck, and it's really not that much faster than the ipad 1...I'm cool with 1st gen until I'm assured that (1) I can buy the product online and be assured I'm getting one that doesn't have a defective display and (2) an untethered jailbreak is released.

May 22, 2011 6:25 AM in response to Chriscicby optimysticguy,Hi
I have returned (6) Ipad2's for defective LCD screens. I will wait until Apple can fix the QC or maybe I'll wait untill IPAD 3 after reading this article.
My heart goes out to the workers who make these IPADs for all of us.
Good luck everyone!
Best regards

May 22, 2011 11:51 PM in response to Chriscicby -Milton Waddams-,Just got my first replacement (brown box) from my local apple store (pioneer place Portland Oregon) They had a few of my model (ATT 64 GB).
It has very little light bleed, My original had tons as pictured earlier.
I was offered one replacement then a refund if not satisfied. We did get to look at the unit before doing the exchange.
S/N: DLXFP...
Happy with it for the time being.
Just an update

May 26, 2011 1:37 PM in response to Chriscicby aka80,Good evening
oddly no one really speaks to the problem of light leakage and yet it still exists. Apple continues to manufacture and sell ipad with screen faults very gênants.Au place to stop production and marketing of the IPAD and settle the problem, Apple continues to flood the market and to continue the conquest of world. It is around Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
I arrived at my third ipad two exchanged because of these leaks light, I simply asked refund. Apple has finally decided to kill this ipad 2, and at the same time, also decided to tarnish his image.
it becomes an ordinary mark, without scruple, more interested in the billions of profits than the quality of its products. It's sad .. -
May 26, 2011 1:51 PM in response to aka80by RandomPhil86,Have not been posting because I took mine back they tried to give me a refurb, I said no caused a scene finally just got a full refund.
& Since people are still getting defected products this is ridiculous.
Apple have dropped the ball on quality control right now.
I really have no faith in them at present.

May 27, 2011 5:22 AM in response to Xaldafaxby RandomPhil86,When I went into the store to exchange my iPad2 for a brown boxed model that they had ordered. The Apple store staff member who was doing the transaction had to tell me the policy for exchanges, it was during this information that I noticed he said that these models are "repaired" sent back units.
This is how I know they are not just Brown boxed completly new units. (Although I had phoned before going to pick it up & asked if it was a completly new unit and the Apple phone line representative said "Yes", However store staff doing the exchange say differently-
So really I dont trust Apples word anymore, these brown boxed units are refurbished models, pure and simple.
Infact in his information he was giving me, He also said I only had 90 days warranty on my replaced iPad2, that is ridiculous.
I had 11 months warranty left with my old one, yet they are allowed to shorten it to 90 days when given a refurbished model out?
Another reason I demanded a refund.
Currently I am iPad2-less and since people are still having problems, I may keep it that way, Even though I really do love the product - defects have put me off.

May 27, 2011 5:33 AM in response to RandomPhil86by dookster,I'm sorry Phil but the store rep obviously has no idea what he was talking about. I'm surprised that you took his word for it in regards to them being refurbs even though he was completely clueless (him stating that there was only 90 days of warranty for the replacement was your clear indication that the person had no clue). Basically, your experience shouldn't be viewed as facts apart from the fact that you had a clueless person helping you out at the shop. These brown boxed units are again only SUSPECTED to be refurbished and usually the bad information surfaced because some people ended up with clueless reps and they took their word for it then came online stating what the reps said as fact.
