Can I still use my iPod with clickwheel 40GB dock on my new Mac mini

Hello.

I have an iPod with clickwheel 40GB that can connect to the older FireWire or USB ports. I also have a dock but I am wondering if I can get a cable that can plug into newer faster FireWire port on my new Mac mini snow leopard server and still use the dock? If not should the dock still work to connect the iPod via the USB port on the Mac mini?
