Question

Screen bleeding bad on black 16gb WlFI

I am seeing some bad screen bleeding on my IPad 2 with a black screen. Seems to be one whole side and part of the bottom near the home button. I see others are starting to report this as well. On hold now with apple care. I really hope apple takes care of this issue and does not ignore it.

Just spoke Apple Care and they created a case for me. I guess they are starting to see reports of this. Make sure to report this and open a case if you run into this issue as they need to build cases to get it corrected in production. I will keep you all posted on mine.

If you would like to test your IPad 2 for this issue just goto google and do a search for black screen images. Once you find one, pinch it up to fill your screen like a movie would and turn off the lights in the room. If you have it trust me you will notice it.

If I had to go to that much trouble to view a "problem," I'd ignore it.

especially the links to articles suggesting it may go away in a few days. If it doesn't, then return it, but you'll probably have to wait some for a replacement.

Yeah it looks like there may be 2 issues. 1 is from the glue not drying all the way and it creates yellow which they say will go away. The second is this white glow or bleeding which I have on a black screen. Gonna wait a few days and see what happens then take it back for another if it does not go away.

Well, I wouldn't want to face the crowds myself but I wouldn't be too surprised if they held back some units for use as replacements.

Well there is not much of a response to this so I am guessing it may just some which is a good sign. I have a appointment Sunday at noon to have them swap it with a new one. Also seeing the WHFI issue slot are seeing but I think that will get fixed through a software update.

I too have the same problem. It's not the yellowing. I noticed it when I turned it on at the black startup screen with the apple logo.

Me,too. Bleeding on top left corner on white iPad 2 64gb+3G Verizon. The bleeding backlight doesn't seem to discriminate between 3G vs wifi only, size, or blk/white models. Hopefully it'll eventually fix itself.

yeah, While booting the iPad, (black apple screen) I can clearly see several bleeding spot...

it's hardly to see on normal usage (surfing web, reading) but,

it clearly visible when you watching videos. (well because of dark screens)

Has anyone exchanged to new (ipad) with this problem yet?

or is this even exchangeable? to new one?

Just got back from the Apple store and they to could clearly see the bleeding.
They replaced it with a brand new one which I now have at home. In testing I can see a bit of glow still when it's black but not as bad as the first one I had. Time will tell I guess.
