Keeping Files in MobileMe iDisk (cloud)

I just purchased an iPad 2 and was hoping I could leverage my investment in MobileMe to keep updates in sync between my MacBook and iPad. My first attempt was with GarageBand. I copied a file from my MacBook to iDisk. I then opened the iDisk app on the iPad and found the file type is not supported 😟

I did search the forums and found various solutions using dropbox and various apps but nothing for iDisk. Dropbox is great but I'm already paying for MobileMe. Maybe I should wait until April to hear Apple's MobileMe and iOS 5 announcement!

I guess I didn't make that clear ... the question is can I use iDisk to edit the same files between like apps on my MacBook and iPad?

So in the GarageBand example, I would want to edit the file I moved to iDisk in iOS GarageBand and see those changes in OS X GarageBand. Same for Pages, Numbers, etc. One copy of a document in iDisk ... edit from either MacBook/iPad.
