Well dond edarin, Glad it is working for you. Be aware that you will probably need to disable yoiur static address when you try to use your iPad at hot spots when you are out and about.

Yes anyone having this problem should take their iPAD back for and exchange or refund. Because:

1. If a replacement fixes your problem you will be a happy man.
2. If it doesn't fix your problem you can always get a refund and keep your money for the iPAD 3 or one of the competitive products. In many countries you can do this outside of the warranty period because of adequate consumer laws. (Denmark and America are exceptions as both countries offer very limited consumer protection and consequently consumers in these countries have been conditioned to accept faulty computer products are to be expected and accepted as part of life.
3. If you want to make a protest to Apple taking it back is probably the only one they will notice and respond to, as it costs them.

Unpbulished performance and stabiltiy improvements from Apple? Surely not!

I'm of course still having problems as most of you are, so I made a quick (not terribly wonderful) video using the app that seems to crash my wifi the fastest.

I know this will sound a little too easy, butvI did the following three days ago and have had perfect wifi connectivity.

         Settings/General/Rest/Reset Network Settings

I also have an iPad1 and I had no problems until the security update of 4.3. Since then I keep loosing my wifi connection. Had to turn off the wifi then turn on again so it would work, also renewed lease and that got me going again.

I have tried the "RESET NETWORK SETTTINGS" several times over the past 2 or 3 weeks, on both my iPAD 1 & 2, and this has not helped with the problem.

Sorry. Can't understand why it worked for me. I wouldn't be surprised if the problem returned. i'll just have to keep my fingers crossed. I think the answer is going to have to come from Apple when they finally have to address the issue.

I have reset my network as well 3 days ago.  I have been using the iPad 2 for 3 days now without any wi-fi problems.  I'm also keeping my fingers crossed.

I have reset mine a couple of times, and have had no luck. It seems to disconnect more often on more internet heavy apps such as netflix, youtube, splashtopHD, and that golf app from the vid I posted above.

My problem didn't appear app specific. I would just turn it on and my wifi connection was weak and therefore Everything wifi supported was useless.

I am unable to connect to internet with my ipad 2 through my DIR-655 (the ipad recognizes the DIR-655 but gives nonsense IP address and will not connect to internet).  I've done the usual things (turn internet filter off, reboot router, reload WI-FI, retype password).  I can connect at the local Starbucks, so I know the ipad works.

Can you tell me what your settings are on both ipad and DIR-655?

I'm using that router too with no problems now. Turn off the auto channel, or use best channel (forget what its called) setting and pick a random channel. Fixed my problems.

There are two versions of the DIR-655. These are the base DIR-655 and the DIR-655 rev E. You may not actually have the same router as Bucyris.

If you are having problems you should at least update the firmware in your D-Link DIR-655 router. The latest firmware for both versions of the router is available here: DIR-655 Firmware

Select the version of the router that you have and click "Support Resources" to download the firmware.
