I have an iPod Touch 4G 8GB and every time I try to upgrade to iOS 4.3 it gives me the error message: "The iPod "Rob's iPod" could not be updated. This device isn't eligible for the requested build."
I'm having the same problem with 3 4G touchs but I'm very hesitant to go outside the 'normal' apple upgrade. I'm more curious why this is happening and that not more have posted.
Has anyone fixed this by following an apple recommended path?
Hi well i went to update my ipod touch 4g with the 4.3 update. I got and error message saying that it could not update. Then it put it in recovery mode. Now when i try to restore it and cant? it says and error occurred and the number next to it was "1604". please help me i'd really appreciate it.!!
Don't ask me why, but it worked..unfortunately I had to use another Mac to do the upgrade...Both of my Macs have the exactly same versions of all software so I dont understand why it would work on one and not the other... Unfortunately, most people don't have the luxury of having 2 computers to try this out on so hopefully Apple will see this and look into this problem.
Please post if you are able to use an alternative computer and if it works or not thx!
Double check your virus protection. I'd forgotten that Norton was installed (courtesy of my ISP). Disabled and got my IPT 3rd gen to update from 3.1.3 to 4.3
well i got itunes on my other computer and well it looks like it is restoring and updating so i guess it has something to do with updating it on your regular computer.
