NOT AVAILABLE FOR FACETIME. when i call my wife's IPHONE4 from my MacPro

Ok here is my situation. I have installed the FaceTime app for Macbook Pro's! That is good to go, Ok here we go. I can call my IPHONE4 from my Mac via facetime but when I try to call my wife's phone from my Mac it gives me the message "not available for facetime" but the thing is, SHE is connected to wifi in our home. I'm not sure what to do from here to be able to use Facetime. Her phone doesnt have the most current IPHONE update but neither did my phone and it worked. There is nothing wrong with the app because it calls my IPHONE4 fine....does anyone have any ideas??????

You need to change the FaceTime caller ID settings on your Mac because you're using the same Apple ID on multiple devices. You need to associate a second email address on your Mac in order for FaceTime to work correctly. Otherwise, you're essentially calling and receiving from the same address and FaceTime gets confused. It took me a few minutes of tinkering with different caller IDs and associated email addresses on each device in order to get FaceTime to work correctly between my Mac and iPad.

I have the same problem.

a) I can make facetime calls from my mac to other macs
b) I can make facetime calls from my iPhone to other iPhones
c) I can make facetime calls from my iPhone to macs
d) I cannot make facetime calls from my mac to iPhones. It just says, on the Mac, "xxx is not available for Facetime"

I thought this was an issue with me still using the Beta, so I bought the 1.0.1 from the Mac App Store, and I still have the same problem.

In my case, yes. For my tests, I was using two iPhones and two computers. Both iPhones could call both computers and each other. Computer A could call both computers and both iPhones. However Computer B could only call Computer A, and both iPhone calls would fail. This was on two different networks (one computer & iPhone was in AZ, one was in CA).

I have a similar situation. I want to call my home computer from my iPad while on the road. Do I need to have a totally different account ID with Apple on my iPad to make it work? I tried it with a different email address but it kept ending the call.

Is facetime turned on under Phone in Settings?

Is she on wifi?

I just called my iPhone4 from my iMac and it worked fine. I've called my wife's 3Gs also.

The iPhones that you are calling do have facetime turned on under Phone in Settings and are they on wifi?
