iPod stuck in connect to iTunes Logo

I was trying to update my iPod 4thGen to the new iOS 4.3, so I updated iTunes first, next I was updating my iPod and I got an error, and now my iPod is stuck in the connect to iTunes screen, the problem is that neither does my PC or iTunes read my iPod, it says to find hardware for Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode), I don;t even know what's that, I'm really confused, what can I do?

Also, I tried resetting it and all that, but the Connect to iTunes is still there. i've already looked at some articles, but those didn't help

Thought I'd join the party too. I've had the same problem as you all. Updated using the latest software (those pops up reminding me to do it every day finally wore me down). Now my IPod is next to useless allegedly stuck in recovery mode.

Oh the joy, I do love an upgrade that makes everything worse. Bravo Apple. Have tried all of the trouble shooting options given on here and none of them work. If anyone does stumble on a solution please please post it here. I miss my IPod so much and I can't find a way to reach a person at Apple. I have logged the issue several times though but think it just vanishes into thin air.

Funny isn't it, how dependent we become on these devices : (

Guys! Good news... my ipod tough 4g is now working perfectly.

I went to mac center earlier, and they were able to restore it. Though they charged me, coz they said it's not included in the warranty only hardware issues.

It's really easy.

Steps (Requirements: itunes 10.2.1, stable internet connection)

1. Make sure that the "Apple Dock Connector to USB Cable" is connected to your ipod touch/iphone as well in the pc. (itunes is open)

2. Hold the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time for about 5-10 seconds. Wait till it appears on the itunes.

3. Then, once it has been detected, click restore.

Before I went to apple center, i tried the #2 step however it was not connected so i wasn't able to resolve this myself. It's a bit frustrating that I had to pay them just for that easy solution... hehehe... anyway, it's worth it..

I hope I was able to help you.
