iOS 4.3 airplay drop outs

Since updating to 4.3, the ipod app on my iPhone 4 can no longer maintain a constant airplay connection to my airport express. It plays for a few minutes, drops out and eventually loses the connection completely -- the airplay symbol disappears for a moment, then reappears but the music is then paused and the connection is reset to play through the phone. Same thing happens with Rhapsody. I have no problem using airplay from my iMac, and this never happened before the update. Anyone having a similar problem? Any suggestions?

Ok I don't have an answer but something is seriously up with Airplay and mobile devices.

I was hoping 4.3 would solve the problems of re-connecting and drop outs when connecting my iphone 3GS to my Denon CEOL but it hasn't
My macbook is more reliable but still can lose connection mid way through tracks. I thought it was my home network but my Denon is reporting an excellent connection to the wireless network (streaming internet radio wirelessly fine) and I can sit next to it and surf the net at a decent speed.
My ipad and iphone both show good connection to the wireless network in the vicinity of the Denon CEOL but when streaming music via Airplay just keeps dropping out

Apple need to solve this -as presently Airplay is not what its cracked up to be

As I say was hoping 4.3 might fix the bugs but still dropping out this evening with iphone
Not good

This is a major issue with airplay and apple needs to fix ASAP with the iPhone OS 4.3. I thought this OS was supposed to fix airplay issues / bugs? I've found to have airplay drop pretty consistently (either stop mid-stream while playing a song or drop altogether and have to press play and change the airplay output) on both airport express units and apple tv 2 units that I have in my home. Also, it is a problem using the apple remote app along with other 3rd party apps like pandora and rhapsody. I've replaced my wireless router to an airport extreme and have a cable internet connection that I get 9MB per second. Still issues and have found nothing on the internet on how to solve this problem. I know it is not my iphone, my wireless router, my apple tv or my airport express units. It is an issue with airplay. Great idea but it is useless if the audio continues to cut in and out. FUSTRATINGUser uploaded file

I tried using AirPlay today through my Airport Express for the first time since updating to 4.3. I was listening to an album in the car, plugged into the head unit through an ipod cable, took my iPhone in doors and found the airplay icon was missing from the play controls. Restarted the express, checked my Mac could connect, which it did, and turned off wifi on my phone but to no avail.

Decided to close all the other open apps on the phone and found there were a few media playing apps open that could utilise airplay. When I went back into the ipod app the airplay logo was showing again.
Because I closed so many at the same time I'm not sure if there was one app that was causing an issue or if the flaw relates to any airplay app being open along with ipod app. next time it happens I'll try and be a bit more scientific and report back.

The phone has now being playing through airplay to my surround system for some ten minutes without any issue.

Just realized that we had another iPhone 3GS in the house that was still running iOS 4.2 Airplay streamed music perfectly to Airport Express for hours without a single drop out. Proves that the problem is the iOS 4.3. Maybe it has something do with the fact that it is an older Airport Express - the "g" model, not the "n" model? Maybe the new iOS no longer supports it?

Happens on my iPhone too, although throughout various versions of iTunes from Mac OS and the iPhone I've had a bunch of AirPlay issues.

It's a very delicate and flakey implementation. I can only hope the recent licensing of it to audio equipment manufacturers will pressure Apple into starting to get it right (or expose how FUBAR'd the protocol is and have it fail).

Same problem here, Apple! Up until now, AirPlay has been my favorite feature. (Video's a different story, but I mostly use it for audio with Pandora and Rhapsody anyway.) But with 4.3 it is virtually useless now. I'm a relative newbie to Apple products and have been impressed with how everything has worked seamlessy together -- until now. 😟
