Refurbished iPhone - Locked or Unlocked?

Hi there, I sent my Pay as you go iPhone 3GS into apple after it broke, it was locked to the orange network. I subsequently received a refurbished iPhone 3GS from apple, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this replacement still locked to the same network?

Thanks, this new handset wont be registered to me will it? I've now bought an iPhone 4 and want to sell the refurbished 3GS you see...

In terms of warranty, no. The warranty is tied to the device, not the individual. Before selling: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. That will put the phone in a state just like it was when first taken out of the box.
