Syncing iphone calendar with Windows Live Mail

Hi guys - I just upraded to Windows 7 and I'm looking to see if it's possible to sync the calendar with the Windows Live Mail calendar? I'm thinking the only option at this time is MS Outlook, but just thought I'd ask. I searched and read through 3 other similar questions on here but didn't find any answer, hence the new post. Thanks!

Microsoft copied Google and now supports accessing a Hotmail or Windows Live Mail account as an Exchange account with the iPhone's Mail app. This provides Push access for received messages and for syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with the account on your iPhone.

For syncing calendar events direct with an application on your computer via the iTunes sync process, you need Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010.

I understand your second statement about the needing Outlook - but I'm trying to reconcile it with your first paragraph - there is support for calendar events over the air between Windows Live and iPhone? So it can be done, just not physically through syncing via iTunes?

Thanks for the link, but those are instructions on how to push hotmail on your iphone. I don't have a hotmail account. I use Windows Live Mail & its built in calendar with my ISP's POP3 email account, so I'm guessing I'm out of luck and can only really push/sync the calendar if I switched to Outlook. I'm afraid email clients are going the way of the dinosaur, and web mail is where it's at these days.

The instructions that Allan Sampson posted will work. I have an old Prodigy.net account under my ISP's webmail, and I use it with Windows Live Mail. Just follow the instructions exactly (especially when choosing "Exchange") and it should work fine. It did for me, and I've been wondering how to finally synch my Win Live Calendar with my iPhone for quite a while. Thanks Allan!!
