streaks caused by smart cover

I am. 3 streaks right down the screen.

Not on mine. Didn't notice it prior to putting a screen protector on it or after having it put on.

They wipe right off, its just 3 smudge streaks, but its very annoying that a product I paid $40 for is causing streaks.

I'm getting them all the time. It's funny how the product that was described in the video as "designed to help keep the display clean" actually makes the screen worse.

I do love my SmartCover but I wish it didn't leave these marks.

Yep, just noticed the streaks today as I was about to show off my shiny new iPad to a co-worker. Looks awful.

I have the tan leather case. Does anyone know if the polyurethane covers have the same issue?

I have the navy leather smart case and have the streaks. You would think they would have seen them when they were testing it.

Seems like its all covers, both leather and polyurethane. The streaks appear in the same spaces where the cover isnt touching the screen when closed. There's 3 lines on the inside of the cover and thats where the lines appear on the screen.

Seriously considering returning the cover. I didn't spend $40 to have the same issues I'd have without a cover.

Streaks here too. And they're not easy to wipe off either. They require a cloth, which better be lens cleaning quality.

Smart covers are great as a stand or keyboard raiser, but like others on here, I get the streaks.

What appears to happen is the firm part of the cover does appear to clean the screen, but doesn't clean on the 'foldable' bits where the streaks are.

Yes, it get the streaks too. However I wipe the screen clean every night before I put it on the charger.

Probably some part to cheap Chinese manufacturing process bleeding through. You may have paid $40 or $70 plus tax for it, but I read it only cost Apple about $11 dollars to make, ship, distribute.

I just want to add how easy it is to clean the screen with the Smart Cover.

At the end where you lift it to wake the iPad 2, just slide it across the screen with a little pressure (be gentle) and it will clean the streaks and finger prints. It may take a few swipes but it does a pretty good job.
