No video, only audio

I have an iPhone 4 with OS 4.3 and an ATV2 version 4.2. My issue is that I'm only getting audio from the You Tube App and nothing else. As you can see everything is up to date, I have tried restarting all hardware, I am getting audio from everything, and I have verified that Apple TV has been sellected as my output from my iPhone. I'm not getting the icon for the pictures in my Camera Role either althought I do get audio if I try to play a video clip from there. I'm pretty stumped. Any help would be sincerly appreciated! Thanks alot!

Something useful enough to run Active X, Windows Vista, I work for a living... So obviously it's not a Mac.

i've had AirPlay get stuck a few times.. seems still a little buggie..

if found that

1) switching WiFi off then back on fixes this.. or switching to another network and then back if you have more than one network..

2) sometimes just killing the app does it.. on iOS device.. single click the button to get to homepage.. then double-click to bring up the app switcher.. press and hold on the app 'til reveals the red icons with "-" in them.. then press the red icon to kill the app.. then just restart the app from the home screen again.. this usually clears out whatever has gone wrong

between those two things AirPlay starts working again.. also noticed that once you do that the app generally start working with airPlay pretty solidly..

Same issue, except particularly on my iPad 2 32GB ATT+wifi. Only apps that streamed earlier (Videos) work. Updated AirVideo, Safari videos, EyeTV, either stream only audio or do not stream at all. However, through the iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3, I do sometimes get video and audio streaming with AirVideo and EyeTV (and even SlingMobile, which curiously doesn't have an AirPlay control but was streaming anyway for a while today), but with iPad 2, it doesn't.

Big problems afoot here. And yes, I have updated my AppleTV 2 to the latest software. Obviously the iPad2 is up to date.

Same problem here!

I have an iPad 2 where I can play any video from my Mac Mini, which I have as Media center.

But at the time of dropping it to Apple TV 2, it send only audio, not video.

I saw something around there about rebooting the device and the Mac Mini. and I got it to work just once with one video...

now it is impossible again to send that same video to Apple TV.

Anny idea?

Thanks

I have the same problem too. I am trying to play videos through Air Play on my iPad 1 onto my HDTV and all I get is the audio onto the tv shown as a music clip and the video minus the audio remains on the iPad. This is using apps that are supported by AirPlay as they have the icon to switch onto apple tv (eg air video)

Please help as the feature would be so useful

Same issue. Airplay worked fine before updating the iPhone, then it started streaming audio only from the various apps that previously allowed airplay. It even pops up the little overlay in the lower left-hand corner as-if its playing an audio file. So theoretically it's not just that the video isn't working, the process actually thinks it IS playing an audio-only file...

I then updated the Apple TV, but it didn't help.

Frustrating.

I'm having similar issues, if I try and play video via the iPad 2 Videos app I only get sound on the ATV2, video is played on the iPad 2. Maybe I'm missing something because I can get the same videos playing on the apple tv via the atv2 menus and if I use the apple remote app no problems as well. Maybe I'm missing something here?

Video/Audio works using safari YouTube and iPad YouTube also apple remote app. As far as I can make out it seems an issues using the iPod App which links into the iPad Videos App, same issue if I use the iPad Videos App.

BTW if I try and play shared video using the iPod app on my iPhone same problem. I'm wondering if there is an issue with iOS 4.3.2 update. Apple TV did not get the update ?

After reading many blogs finially got my movies on my macbook pro playing on my appletv via iphone 4. Here's what you need to do.

1) Make sure everything is updated. I'm running iOS 4.3 (appletv), iOS4.3.5 (iphone4) and iOS10.6.8(macbook)

2) Install AirVideo server version 2.4.5 beta6 on MacBook

(download here: http://www.inmethod.com/forum/posts/list/3594.page )

3) Install AirVideo App on iphone4

4) Open AirVideo server on Macbook under Preferences>>Shared folders add the folders which contain the media you wish to stream.

5) Next while still in Airvideo Server Preferences >>Remote, you will find your "server pin",

6) On iphone open airVideo app and add a server using that Pin

7) Turn on AppleTv, under Settings >> AirPlay select "on"

8) Now go to your iphone and open the app again, this time it should recognize your network macbook and the media file folder you selected, select the movie you wish to play and then once playing on your phone select the icon to on the right to connect it to you AppleTv and ... Volia!

If when you send it you still get audio only, #1 issue is you are not running the right version of AirVideo Server (must be beta)
