Location services not working on iPad 2 wifi only

I am certain the service is enabled. Wondering if it's possible for my network to interfere or block that service? For instance, the mobile.me/find my iPad app just clocks and never locates. Google earth worked once but that was it. The default maps program clocks as well. Any ideas?

I recently set up a new dual band aebs and now my location services on my ipad2 and my kids iPod touches are not accurate. Google and apple maps put all the devices at he same location in another city. I've tried soft resets and hard resets, also turning off the modem and airport extreme. Any other suggestions? My iMac is accurately located and is on the same network. Thanks for the help!

I had a ipad 2, 3 days ago and that couldn't get its location no matter what I did , it was a simple case of just turning it off then back on then everything was ok .. ? maybe a glitch or something

Thanks Guys, I tried resetting network settings which didn't work, then followed it up with a hard reset and started working perfectly. Well pleased!

They are right. By simply resetting your iPad 2 (wifi only) network setting, location service seems to work again. I am just wondering why Apple create a product that always requires for a reset.

I'm having the same problem and mine is a 32GB wifi unit on 4.3.3

I tried hard reset, rebooting and resetting the network and yet my location services is still not working.

I tried on my friends 16GB wifi 4.3.1 and it work. After I did an upgrade of his to 4.3.3 the location services is not working.

Is this an issue with 4.3.3?

I am using exactly the same model as yours (iPad 2 32 gb wifi only). Ipit runs iOS 4.3.3 and my location service is working properly after resetting the network setting. If reset didn't help you solve the problem, genius is the last option you may consider

The gps on my little sprint mobile hotspot was disabled and my iPad showed it's last know location. I didn't realize the iPad got it's location from that so I disabled it to conserve battery life.

I have tried everything in this thread and nothing worked. Any other options? Or do I need to just call Apple care?

Not all wireless networks provide location information. My Time Capsule, for example, does not. Take your iPad to a public hotspot and see if the location information works on that network (you may want to do the reset procedure(s) in this thread). If it does, then that means that the wireless network you're trying to use doesn't provide location information and the problem is not with your iPad.
