iPhone from Orange France - Hotspot

Hi everybody,
3 month ago I moved to France and got an iPhone from Orange France. It's a locked device (ofcourse). Currently, if I try to enable Hotspot I have to subscribe Orange's special plan for this feature (which is expensive). However, Orange France will unlock my iPhone after 6 month. Will I than have an access to this feature without the special plan? What if I switch do a different Mobile operator (maybe even outside of France) will this feature still remain locked? How can I unlock it?

As already provided, an iPhone being unlocked or carrier locked with a carrier has nothing to do with this. If a carrier supports tethering with the iPhone and charges for a tethering package as most do, you must purchase a tethering package with the carrier in order to use it. If a carrier supports tethering with the iPhone and doesn't charge for it or tethering is included with their regular data package for the iPhone, you can use it with that carrier.

Unlocked, locked, all have absolutely nothing to do with whether the carrier you're using offers the Hotspot feature or not. Individual carriers determine whether they will offer this feature & if so, how much they will charge to use it. So, if you want Hotspot, check with your carrier to see if they support it and if they do, what the charge is, if any(most do charge extra).
