I would lik to update my iPad, however, when i do so the dialogue box says that i have purchased items that have not been transfered to my iTunes Library etc. I have transfered all purchased items via the File menu and then transfer Purchases. Now when I try to update I keep getting exactly the same message about purchased items not being transfered to iTunes. Has it or hasn't it, and if so how can i check WHAT it has saved in the backup.
Is the data from saved games etc saved in the backup or not.
If i just blindly sync the iPad will I lose everything as it says or not.
There are so many discussions about syncing issues with iTunes and none of them are definitive in their answers. can't apple get iTunes working in a way that is intuitive and user friendly.
The following includes listing what is contained n a backup. The backup includes app date but not the app themselves. The apps are synced to the iPad from the iTunes library.

So if I go ahead with a sync will I lose the apps that are on the ipad even though 'I Think' I have transferred them to iTunes.
If they have been transferred, then why does the dialoge box insist that they haven't been transferred.
Is this just a dumb dialogue box (or programmer) and it should say what it is saying. OR will it in fact delete everything on the iPad and only put on it what it thinks is in iTunes?
I'm a programmer and there is no logic in what is happening just bad coding logic.

I had the same problem but I noticed when I would transfer the purchased apps it would actually crap out 5 -6 apps before finishing, so I would recommend just keep doing it but keep track of what apps crap out.
But then again I am a developer and Apple made us restore our iPads to upgrade to the actual 4.3 so you may have that problem too
I recently bought a new Mac Mini and restored my user account on that new Mac from a Time Machine backup of the recently moribund Powerbook G4.
Interestingly when I logged in to comment here, I get this new Mac offering a long dead previous email address as my Apple ID. This is the same long dead Apple ID that pops up when I try to sync the iPad.
So of course, I'm getting the loop described in the message above, that the iPad isn't authorized for some of the apps and they'll be removed, etc. but that the new computer is authorized for sharing. There are a number of other confused-account-name anomalies. Something isn't set properly somewhere, as the old email address pops up, and I can't change that or delete it anywhere that I can find on my Mac. MobileMe ID is correct. iTunes store ID is correct. iTunes says the iPad isn't authorized.
Restoring the iPad does not fix this. The OS, somehow, somewhere is under the impression that my iPad account, and my iTunes account are not the same. And I cannot authorize the new computer for the apps, as it is claims to be already authorized.
