Will iPad 2 CDMA work on international 2G networks?

Will iPad 2 CDMA work on international 2G networks?

*I am interested in purchasing iPad 2 CDMA, but I want to use it elsewhere other than USA... my questions are a) is there a SIM card tray in CDMA version and b) will it work internationally on 2G networks, here I don't have 3G*

No SIM card tray (I believe) and, in any case, CDMA is incompatible with the GSM standard used in most other countries. CDMA is used in the USA and some parts of Asia, GSM pretty much everywhere else. Certainly all of Europe is GSM.

I know that CDMA not compatible with GSM, but I have an excellent CDMA coverage here, just wanted to know if there is a SIM tray and it is unlocked like GSM one

CDMA network devices do not use a SIM. The Verizon CDMA iPad is not locked.

and about the sim cardYou are right, it is called RUIM, I have a mobile with R-UIM and I wanted to use it with iPad if it has a tray for it?

Hi Chris.. i have an Ipad 2 with 3G (verizon) i live outside US and we do have a CDMA carrier in my country, do you know if I can change the carrier? how can be done.. thanks!

You would need to contact the carrier is question and ask if they can support the iPad.

Hi.. thanks for your response. Yes the carrier supports iPad, do you know how to change the configuration in the iPad? since i believe there is no chance to select carrier from a menu?

Your Verizon machine will work over WiFi anywhere its available and what you could do is get an unlocked GSM MiFi device with pay as you go sim and you'll be covered almost globally !

Hello. I contacted the local cdma carrier they can assign me a data service for my ipad cdma, but since is a new technology here they dont know how can configure the ipad. Do you know how can i configure the ipad 2 cdma go work with the local carrier?

Your Verizon iPad will not work with cell carriers in India.

It uses CDMA and there are no CDMA cell carriers in India.

It will work with wifi but not 3G.
