iPad 2 Shipping

Has anyone that has had their iPad already ship seen it move from Lantau Island, HK? Nothing has changed as far as the ship date or the delivery date, it just has not moved in a day or so.

I am not quite sure why I am so lucky but I ordered my black 32g wifi on the 31st, it spent about 2 days in "prepared for shipment" on the 8th it was in Shenzhen, Lantau Island, and now Memphis.

The original ship date was the 14th and delivery on the 20th, but now they are saying delivery on the 14th. But in my opinion it looks like it may be here sooner because of it being in Memphis yesterday. I am thinking that it will be in Detroit and out for delivery by the end of the week!

Just to let you know, I ordered my engraved, 64GB, WI-FI, 3G AT&T black iPad on May 28th. It was prepared for shipment on June 8th and about 8 hours later was Shipped. The date shipped was June 9th, due to the time difference in China, and now it is in HK. The estimated delivery date is June 14, but I think it may arrive by Monday, the 13th. I wish it would arrive by Friday, since FedEX does not deliver on the week-ends, but I think that would be unlikely.

I ordered my black 3G/wireless Verizon 16g on 5/25. It had an arrival date of 6/15. It shipped last week and was put on a truck to deliver yesterday, 6/8. So I go home to wait for it. Around 12:30 there's an update of a "Delivery Exception".


Fedex claimed it was Apple


Apple said they would notify the public later in the day and that this had happened to other people. They are sending me a free smart cover for the inconvenience. Great--I've got nothing to put in it...and no idea when I will get it.


At 6:47 last night the "Package returned to shipper".


Has anyone else had this happen?

@ ATL GRL I have the same issue. Mine was scheduled by FedEx for delivery today, I checked last night and saw the exception and a note saying the "Package refused by recepient." I certainly did no such thing! I called FedEx thinking they had gone to the wrong house and they said the shipment was stopped by Apple. I called Apple first thing this morning and the CSR said she wasn't totally sure what was going on but I was not the only one. I ordered a Verizon 16gb White on 5/24. Perhaps they caught a defect in this lot of 16gb VZW models or something. The CSR said she had already seen some people with the problems getting new iPads with expidited shipping added to their accounts and to sit tight and keep checking my Order Status page, and she refuded the cost of the smart cover I got with it.


I hope it gets resolved soon as it's a gift and I don't want to not have a present for my girlfriends birthday! I do however have good faith in Apple's customer service, they have never done me wrong before.

I ordered a black 64gb AT&T 3G on May 31st. My original ship date was June 14, with a delivery date of June 20. A few days ago the delivery date jumped out to June 25th. But, last night I received a shipment notice. It went straight from processing to having already arrived in Hong Kong. New delivery date is June 14.


What's weird though is that my smart cover shipped from China on June 1st through DHS Global. It arrived in Los Angeles on June 3rd, sat there for a day, spent a day at a facility in Redondo Beach, then a few days at another facility in Carson. DHS then dumped it with USPS yesterday and supposedly it is being delivered to me (about 45 minutes from Los Angeles) sometime this afternoon. My status page through DHS Global still lists a delivery date of June 7th. Not that it matters to me, but a week for DHS to get a package from Los Angeles to Anaheim is a total joke!
