I can't find my books or music on my ipad

I have itunes 10 on my desktop and have synced my ipad several times, but I cannot find the playlists or books on the ipad, even though the sync's were completed. How do I find them????

If you are sure the sync was correct, the music is in the iPod App and books will be in the iBooks App.

Playlists will be on the left side in the iPod app. Audiobooks will also be in iPod.
Books will be in iBooks, which is not preinstalled. You need to download it (free) from the App store.

Where are you looking for them ? Music and audiobooks should appear in the iPod app. Are you sure that the sync is copying the content over. Does the iPads summary screen in your computer's iTunes show that music content is on the iPad (and does Settings > General > About on the iPad show how that their are songs on it)
