NBA League Pass streaming poorly

I bought an Apple TV solely for the purpose of streaming games to my television. However, since testing out the device, it has not streamed more than two continuous minutes without an interruption. Everything else appears to be working just fine. Is there a setting that I can adjust? Please advise.

I suspect it may be your home network. AFAIK, your ATV is just getting a feed from your home router. I won't have my unit hooked up until tomorrow, but I can tell you that my feeds stream fine to my MBP without interruption. One thing that is slightly annoying is the lack of commercials. Never thought I would ever say that.

When a game is between innings or pitching changes, MLB puts up a screen that shows the 2 teams playing. Instead of this annoying screen, I don't see why they don't just show the new pitcher warming up with a fixed camera. Or if they don't want to do that, they should have a "countdown" clock.

I just hooked my new ATV2 up, but it's too late to watch a game at the moment. We gave a relative an ATV2 for Christmas and he reports that he did have some streaming problems (stuttering) until he bought a new "N" router which he says fixed the problem for the most part. What the "most part" is I'm not sure.

I also have an N router so tomorrow I'll watch a game and see how it does. Will report back after I see how it performs in the real world. However, so far I'm impressed. I was planning on watch some games this year on my MBP laptop with it hooked up to my Samsung via the HDMI cable. That's a PITA so I'm hoping the ATV does the job without messing around with cables. I did watch a few games last year in that manner and I don't remember any stuttering.

One of the great things about this MLB deal is that I can use my IP, any laptop/desktop or my new ATV2 (all on the same subscription) AND save about $80 over Directv's Extra Innings package. However, there is a loss of signal compared to the package on Directv, but this works for me.

What is your bandwidth signal measuring (kbps)? MLB.com recommends a minimum of 3,000 to view games in HD. I am considering getting this service with an Apple TV. The bandwidth speedtest on my g network on MLB.com website is measuring on average 5,500. I would hope to think this is more than enough to watch a game n HD without interruption.

The speed varies of course. I just ran speedtest.net which reported 6.6 Mbps. I watched a brief part of a game today and it started out a bit fuzzy, but within about 30 seconds, it "synced" into what appeared to be HD on a lose definition of the term. Certainly watchable and better than SD.

For what it is (beamed down my DSL), I'm more than satisfied.

Use Speed Test to see how fast your internet is. You might consider a signal booster if you think it's not speed, but rather connectivity issues or interuptions. Check signal strenth. I think there is an app for that. I switched to an Apple Extreme router and it works great. You can then use the Apple Airports to boost strength if you need to. We don't have to and it works great, even down in the basement.
