Timpani

Hello all,

I am looking to somehow import a timpani sound that is playable via the virtual keyboard, rather than a loop; in other words, I wish to include the timpani sound as and when I choose with a piece of music, and with whichever notes I choose. Is this possible? (sorry if I'm missing something obvious, in any case, the timpani loop on Garageband 09 sounds just like a drum kit!)

Any help gratefully received. I've only just started exploring Garageband.
