Bright spot on screen
Thanks!

i have a small (bright) spot (1/4 mm) on iphone 5c, and have never pressed the screen hard. "dust trapped near metal plate" is impossible since i've never dis-asembled the phone or had it unclean or wet.
i did put on a glass screen protector, unsure if that could cause a spot. i'm %100 sure it was clean installed, but not %100 sure that isn't when the spot appeared.
my guess is someone i let hold my phone (trustingly) intently pressed the screen hard xxxxx me over
i will be more careful not to let anyone hold my phone for any reason now: so many people have weird motives to attack others these days.
there is an old saying for Harley owners: "no one gets on the bike but the owner, period" (unfortunately, is very likely if someone "wants to get on the bike" they will damage it ... that's the world we live in)
-------------------------------
there should never be a spot on a new unit unless Apple says so and they don't
if you get one "from a store" it should be NIB, if it has a spot then obviously someone has been fat-fingering the unit (the unit has been out of the store and returned). exchange it for a New In Box immediately - since spot damage due to pressing on screen is damage to the screen and hurts the battery (unless you put on a screen protector and trapped some dust while doing so)
Just noticed this on mine, it's a 3mm brighter round dot on the bottom right edge.
Noticed it while reading a book on white background, kind of annoying.
Currently debating whether exchanging it is worth the hassle.
Maybe I'll wait until the warranty is near expiration to get it replaced.
This one does not have any issues other than dropping wifi, but that's probably a software issue.
The replacement may have other issues so you never know.
Also I am not sure whether they have the Verizon Black 64GB in stock.
I have a same problem. Mine got a couple bright spot near the home button and when i press the edge, i can see another bright spot. Does anyone from apple can answer this question? Cmon guys....
I've got the same problem (it developed a bit after purchase)
The apple sto staff blew me off when I went in the day after purchase to inquire about what appeared to be some dead pixels ("that's normal and will go away" was their explanation)
Let's see if I get any better luck this time.....

My iPad seems to have developed a "bright spot" about an inch down from the top of the screen, slightly off center. It is noticeable when I have a white or light colored background, such as a blank page in Pages, or in the silver of the settings window. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it normal, or is there something wrong?
Thanks!
FWIW, my 11-month old iPad 2 developed just such a "sunspot" about dead center in the screen. Perhaps a quarter-inch in diameter. This appeared just in the past week, and I took it to the Genius Bar today. No questions asked- they replaced it with a new one that I'm restoring and syncing as we speak.

I have the same issue as well it happen on 3/17/12. I made an appoitment with Apple Store on 3/21. We see what they say. I bought in July of 2011
I have the same issue with mine. My iPad 2 is just under 1 year old. I took it to the Genius Bar in Greenwich CT and they told me that it's not covered under the warranty, that I must have done it by tapping the glass too hard, and there's nothing they can do except sell me another iPad 2. Should I try taking it to another Apple Store or am I completely out of luck? Not happy to find out that my store won't replace mine while others are having no trouble getting a new one..
