    Same issue here also. Usually, I get this behavior when I travel, and cycle WiFi On/Off. For example, I'll be at an airport, and turn WiFi on to check for a free signal. When I discover no free sites, I'll turn Wifi Off. I am then locked out from getting back on the Verizon network.
    This is definitely a major software bug.
    If I do a hard reset, I am able to get back on the Verizon network without a problem.
    Apple - Please fix this network switching issue.

    I had this same problem, but I went to the Apple store and they were nice enough to swap thew unit. It was really annoying. Mine was able to connect, but it did not let me sign-on to the Verizon network, nobody could give me a straight answer on how to fix it.

    I'll add my name to this issue, especially since Apple claims it's only a "small" number. When I approach an Apple store and was asked what was up, once told they immediately knew enough to reboot my iphone and later my ipad2. Maybe they should check with the store employees who just assume we all know this stuff.

    Add my name to the list. I had problems after waiting to turn on my cellular service for a week. Tried to activate today and had all sorts of trouble getting the cellular service to come on so I could register over the air. Finally had to play around and reboot to get it to come back. I paid to much for this kind of garbage.

    Just throwing my iPad 2 in the ring too. I also can only connect to the Verizon network by rebooting. As soon as I turn the cellular off, it will not connect to the network again without a hard reset.

    Same issue here. I now just leave my verizon cellular data on which of course should not be the fix...

    I have had my verizon one for about a month. Do you think I could trade it in cause it has an issue.

    I think folks should not go crazy and blame Verizon for this issue. This is a software/hardware issue that needs to be addressed by Apple. There are enough of us having the problem now that it appears it is being addressed. There are pros and cons to AT&T vs. Verizon with regards to quality of service and service availability. Many people who have had AT&T iPhones are flocking to Verizon. I too am experiencing the issue with my iPad2 and turning off cellular and then having to reboot. The best fix for now is to leave cellular on all the time and turn on/off WiFi as needed. This works for me.

    I have the same issue but with the GSM version of the iPad. The only thing is that I'm not using AT&T SIM as I'm outside of the US.

    Reading this topic makes me really concerned, My wife and her friend bought these back from the USA (for themselves and partners) when they went for a visit. So we have 4 of these Verizon ipads in the UK that we cant test as wont work on our network. The Mrs. didnt realise that that Verizon network wouldnt work in Uk. Contacted Apple and they want us to return the ipads back to the SanFrancisco Store !! Thats customer service.

    This all sounds very questionable to me. I bought a 64 gig verizon ipad2 that works like a dream. I could not be happier with my verizon ipad.

    This sounds like a verizon problem and not an apple issue.

    I have the same problem. CNET reports that the Verizon Ipads are prone to this problem (see attached link:

    The work around, until Apple comes up with a software fix, is to turn on the 3G connection, then reboot the machine.

    This should at least get you running. I'll be syncing my Ipad frequently so that I'll get the software fix as soon as it is available.

    Add me to the list. So glad to see that others are having this problem, too.

    My 64gb iPad2 w/ Verizon has issues connecting over 3G. If I turn off the cellular connection for awhile, then turn it back on, it cannot connect, and I have to restart the iPad to get it to work.

    Ditto, ALso seems to be a challenge to connect to WiFi if already on 3G, seesm to not want to use WiFi and defaults to 3G even after selecting WiFi network over and over again--same solution--have to hard reset and then it comes bavck up and will take WiFi in lieu of 3G. IN some cases I've had to turn celluar data off then reboot. Then have to reverse--turn celluar on and reboot to get back to 3G.
