iPad 2 touchscreen freaks out when plugged in

Everytime I've tried to use my ipad2 regardless of orientation when it's been plugged in to power my touchscreen function seems to get whacked out. If I press 1 key on the keyboard it'll appear as if I'm touching 5 or 6. I also tried in portrait mode to go back to my inbox from the mail program and instead it deleted the email. Has anyone else had this problem?

Give these a try.

Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button at the top of the iPad until the red slider appears, then slide to the right to power off the iPad. Turn the iPad on again by pressing the sleep button until the Apple logo appears.

Try a hard reset by pressing and holding down on the sleep button at the top of the iPad while holding down on the home button at the bottom, until the Apple logo appears and the iPad restarts.

I haven't viewed the video, but what you described has happened to me as well. I was charging with the car adapter through a 12-Volt wall dongle to fix the fact that the normal wall charger is letting the battery die for some reason. Also, a coincidence, but I had just downloaded a very strange but free "Impossible Test" app from the top25 list and was playing it just before this started.

While slowing making it's way back to 100%, it would only select the bottom-most item on the screen. Then it would only sporadically acknowledge swipes or gestures; the turn-off swipe required me to work it extra-double-quick. If, God forbid, I made it to a multiple-choice screen, the settings would dance like the keyboard in "Close-Encounters of the Third Kind." If a text/password box popped up, it would throw random characters out. I'm just glad I've always required my password for purchases, and never allow in-app purchases; I'ld be rich in apps and in the poor-house.

After a while it just stopped; but would re-appear sporadically. I just did the latest update, but I've got my eye out for it.
