Using 2 different accounts to sync apps with iPad

Is this possible to do? I want to get someone a gift of an iPad 2 but use my own account initially to sync an app I will buy for it as a surprise to show them when they get it... can they then go and just sync with it using their own account without any issues and delete mine? Also, will they be able to keep any apps I may put on it from mine? Thanks

Several issues. The recipient's computer will wipe out the app and start out the iPad as brandy new. The app can then be downloaded again from the iTMS but it would be necessary to log on with your ID and password which would also be necessary if any future updates are needed. If you're OK with that, the sync and backup will work fine.

I suggest an iTMS gift certificate with a personal statement that "this is intended for app XYZ." That's a lot cleaner.

You can also gift them the app that you'd like them to have. That way they get your gift, but also get the pleasure of unwrapping the iPad themselves!! 🙂
