Any and all talk of jailbreaking is not supported by Apple or on this forum. Even talking about if it is legal or not. I don't think you have to worry about the Apple police knocking down your door though...

It's legal anywhere. It's your phone and you can do what you want with it.
You might void your warranty or find yourself with limited support if something goes wrong... but it's certainly not illegal to jailbreak.

it is completley legal to jailbreak, and although if you are stupid enough to show it to someone who works with apple, it will void it, but if you restore it and set it up as a new ipad, ther is no way to tell unless they go into the firmware files. note: i havent ever jailbroke any of my devices, but all of my friends have and i know all about it because of them.
