Flight Simulator

I am wanting to know if Microsoft Flight Simulator will run on a Mac Book Pro 17? I was told a little over a year ago it would run on a HP and not on a Mac found out the HP could not handle the program and now we have a computer I hate and my husband still cannot play flight simulator. I understand it is a huge program and a desk top would be better but we travel right now for his work and shipping our desk top to China did not work out so well as now that is a rock 😟 and another story. Before I spend this much money again I was hoping maybe somebody could help me out. I know that they have other simulator games but he truley loves this one so if at all possible I would like to try and make this work for him. Thanks for any help!

The brand isn't really the issue as much as the specifications. The latest edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator is quite old. There are undoubtedly "some" HP machines that would run it and some that would not. The requirements for the game are:

+*Microsoft Windows XP SP2 / Vista PC with 1 GHz equivalent or higher processor 256 MB of system RAM for Windows XP SP2 / 512 MB Vista 14 GB available hard disk space DVD-ROM drive 32 MB DirectX 9 compatible video card required Sound card, speakers or headphones required for audio Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device 56.6*+

The 17" MacBook Pro far surpasses the requirements to run this game. If you were considering a 15" MacBook Pro, you would want to go with the higher end model with the 6750m graphics processor as it has 1GB of RAM (this is standard on the 17"). This is because while MS Flight Simulator itself has relatively low requirements... some of the add-ons have higher requirements. Again... if you're looking at the 17" this isn't an issue as it comes with the higher end graphics card as standard.

*However... in order to run Microsoft Flight Simulator, you will need to install Windows 7 (this is the only version supported on the newest MacBook Pro) via something called BootCamp. This allows your new MacBook to boot into Windows just like a regular PC. Using BootCamp is necessary to allow your system to play games with full graphics capabilities.*
