Q: Apple Remote Desktop to multiple computers over the internet
I have about 60 macs that i would like to administer from my home using Apple Remote Desktop, I also have a Sonicwall NSA-2400, how would I configure both ARD and the Sonicwall to allow access to the remote computers from my home. I know that there are already many posts on this topic however, i haven't found any that were very clear or concise. Thank you
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

Hi
You don't actually VPN into any mac per se. The SonicWall will provide the VPN tunnel to end at itself. Once the VPN connection has been established you'll be able to access all or one or combinations thereof of the macs at that remote site. It will be as if you're at that location without actually being there. It's up to you how you go about doing this but what I mostly do is set up ARD with a relevant Computer List that has all the macs I'm interested in added. This I do when I'm at that site first. When I'm at another site I establish the VPN Connection, launch ARD and access whatever mac or macs I want. I'm doing it at this moment for a couple of sites I support.
