After 4.3 update fine horizontal "interlace" lines on screen

Hi all,

Following the recent 4.3 IOS update I have noticed some very fine horizontal lines on my screen. The only way I can describe it is it looks like video interlace lines you used to see on old CRT monitors. They are very fine and sometimes I think I am going mad and imagining them. I compared the screen to another iPhone4 screen yesterday and they are definitely there. Its not as silky smooth looking as it was.

Could be coincidence that they appeared after the update.. but may not be. Not seen any other mention of this behaviour, has anyone else seen this?

I have the exact same problem. Screen used to be perfect until upgrading to 4.3. It's very annoying.

I'm hoping others will post with the same problem so that it can be addressed.

You guys are still under warranty. I would use that knowledge well. Take it into a apple store is my opinion.

I plan on doing that. Problem is the lines are so feint at times I worry that the Genius Bar guy/girl will not see it or something and send me away. Sometimes its worse than others and I haven't figured out when that is. Still there after a restore though..

im havin the same issue! my wifes i4 still has 4.2.1 and her screen look good! im going to swap our phones ;p

It's really annoying, the problem comes and goes. I have now set up 3 genius bar appointments then cancelled them as the issue disappeared, only to reappear again later in the day. I can't figure out the pattern if there is one and what it might be due to. 😟

Same problem here. Unfortunately, iOS update 4.3.1 does not solve this issue. I would like to send it for repair, but I'm afraid that they will simply restore iOS 4.2. It's also possible that they won't even see the scanlines.

I hope Apple is (becoming) aware of this problem and that they will address it in a future patch.

I also updated to 4.3.1 today in the hope it would fix it, lines still there though and still feint as ever, but definitely there 😟
