Does anyone got a '11 Macbook Pro and has NO complaints about it?

Hi guys,

ATM I'm reading a lot of stuff about the new macbook pro models and I so often encounter complaints about heat and freezes (hu, what an enumeration :D) and so on, and I'm interested in somebody that can tell me "Hey I got one and I'm completely satisfied!" I mean, are these problems to a limited number of pros or is it a general problem? I may head for a MBP 13" erly 2011 and I don't want to run into that problems, too, if possible.

Thanks in advance

LG R510, Windows 7, Core2Duo 2,26Ghz; 3GB RAM; GeForce 9600M GS

Me...so far mine is perfect. I did a CTO about a half hour after the online store opened on the day the 11s were released. I ordered a 15" 2.2 with high-res glossy, 750GB hard drive and just upgraded my memory to 8GB. I've used it every day since it arrived. I'm a graphic designer and have had zero problems with it - using CS5 and Microsoft Office. I also hook it into my 24" Cinema Display and have none of the issues I've read about with that connection. I have no overheating issues, no screen issues, nothing. I'm extremely happy with it. I have a 2010 MBP w/27" Cinema Display at work that I use and compared to the 2010, my 2011 is a speed demon - even before I upgraded my RAM. Couldn't be happier, really. Eventually I do want to upgrade to an SSD, but want the prices to drop on the 256 before I will do that.

Hi,

I got a German Standard MBP 13 i5 and it's working perfectly! Wireless Network, External HDMI monitor including digital audio out, Windows shares, printer sharing, Time Machine backup on a Windows shared drive, Office 2011, IMAP emails, great encoding and networking performance, ... I'm really happy!

Best regards,
FL

PS: it's my first mac ... and even cooperating with my windows machines 🙂

Hello.

I recently purchased one of these machines.

2011 MBP. 2.3ghz 8gb ram. 500gb 7200rpm.

The only problem I have been experiencing is black screen after quiting a ciderized game.
I went searching and found a couple of threads regarding this issue.

Interesting is a reply in the sc2 forum.

Tony M -
"Thanks for the reports guys. We are working with Apple on this, but it has been many apps that freeze on the new 2011 MBP 15/17 inch. Hopefully a resolution will be available soon. "

Anyways. This is the only problem I am experiencing. I have been able to run massive renders in Cinema4D no problem and have been playing some graphic intensive games in bootcamp with no hitch.

This is a wonderful piece of electronic equipment. Apple should fix these software problems.

I was perfectly fine with mine that Ive had for a week until about a couple hours ago when I brought it to work and plugged it into my 24" Samsung monitor here and it started crashing with only a forced reboot to reset it. I have the 13" i5, but apparently its affecting all the new models. Probably just a driver issue with the new graphics cards they switched over to, but still. I may be returning it and sticking to my 2010 MBP.

Me User uploaded file Through a problem (hard drive) with my 13" 2010 MBP that I brough at the end of December, my apple store decided to upgrade me to the stock 2011 13". I've been using it for the past week for school/personal and have experienced none of the issues discussed here in the forums whatsoever. Reloaded all of my applications, movies, music, etc., as well as my VM.

I do plan on upgrading both the RAM and the hard drive as soon as they arrive though. I was a former PC before my Dec 2010 purchase and I have no regrets at all and will never go back - the Mac OS is a joy to work with. Apple has the best customer service out of all the PC vendors that I've worked with over the years.

Hi,

Overall I am pretty happy with mine too, but for one worry: memory usage. Since you and some others on this thread have a MPB with i7 processor, I would be very interested if you looked at the memory footprint of kernel_task, using Activity Monitor. On my MPB, this is about 4 times as much as on 2 machines with Core 2 Duo processors and I am not sure if this is a normal consequence of the i7 or a problem with my machine. Please see my post "kernel_task consumes a lot of RAM in early 2011 MBP, sometimes Finder too" at
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=13229884&#13229884

If you want, you can just email me how much memory kernel_task uses on your machine at <chabot.denis@gmail.com>.

Thanks, Denis
