Video mirroring iPad 2 + Component AV Cable

Can I use a Component Av Cable to video mirroring my iPad 2?
I have the VGA adapter an it works great for that purpose but I'd like better quality output than just VGA.

Have you tested this combination?

Thanks

Confirmed, the component cable does not support mirroring.

Also I don't know where consumers get it in their heads that VGA is worse then component.

They're both analog connections.
They can both do 1080p (1920x1080 or 1920x1200 (16:10 aspect)), VGA can actually go higher then that.
Some devices will look washed out with VGA, this is NOT the VGA standards fault, but rather that devices implementation. The Xbox 360 for example had this issue originally but it was fixed via a software update.

VGA and Component are definitely on their way out in the consumer space, but they're still widely used in the business world with older data projectors (VGA being most prominent).

As for mirroring, the HDMI and VGA adapters are your best friends with the iPad 2.

I believe the component cable could handle the mirroring, its just something on Apple's end that's preventing it. Perhaps because if you use component on an older non-HDTV it can only do 480i and perhaps that causes issues with the iPad trying to output to that resolution. Just a thought.
