Apple TV + AirPlay + Headphones

I do not have an ATV, but have considered purchsing a new one. Does anyone know if it is possible to use AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad to stream video to the TV while still using headphones for audio on the iPhone/iPad? This way someone could be watching TV, but not disturb those around them with the audio.

Haven't tried it but I'm fairly sure the answer is no, AirPlay cannot stream to the Apple tv and play the file itself.

I want to do the same thing but can;r see a way to do it. Lets hope the new ATV can do it!!

BTW, the new Rukus 3 can do it!! You just have to plug in the headphones directly to the remote control, PERFECT!!
