NetFlix Error 104

Here is my error msg.

Sorry, we could not reach the netflix service. Please try again later. If the problem persists, please visit the netflix website. (104)

I have tried resetting with the remote as well as unplugging the unit. Logging out, of both apple tv and netflix with no luck.

Any suggestions?

Imac, Apple TV, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Same thing happened to me. tried rebooting atv2, resetting, logged out of netflix, deactivated atv2 from netflix website, rebooted router, even restored atv2 to factory settings also tried to change DNS to 8.8.8.8 (that worked with 112 error). Tried connecting trough wi-fi and ethernet. Found that home sharing doesn't work when atv2 is connected to my network through ethernet. Nothing worked.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's definitely not a bandwidth issue. I just checked and I have plenty. It's not a NetFlix issue, either. I can access NetFlix from my PC with no problem. I have an iPad 2 and have used NetFlix on it extensively. I just started having this problem on it today. Did anybody find a solution, or is it just a "keep trying - it will eventually work" situation?

Same here... I have 2 AppleTV's: 1 in my LR, and another in my bedroom. Netflix works fine on my MacBook Pro, my iPhone, and on the AppleTV in my LR... but refuses to play on my bedroom unit. I've tried the unplug/wait thing.. resetting... ensuring that my LR unit wasn't still playing content...etc. No joy.


Contacted Netflix... they say it's not on their end, since I can get service on all of my other devices.


Has anyone returned their unit to the Genius Bar guys yet?

Netflix only allows 6 unique devices to stream. Go to manage devices in your Netflix account and delete some. I had 2 ipads, my samsung tv, iphone, and multiple imacs. I deactived some and apple tv worked just fine. You will have to unplug your apple tv to reset after you have deactivate some devices.
