Not recognizing max resolution of 2560x1600- Dell UltraSharp U3011 Monitor
Any thoughts on what I can do to solve this?

Cris is right. It's the same cable that I posted, from the same provider, on a different website. Pretty much no matter where you get it, you'll pay about $7, including shipping. Good luck.
A week later, that cable continues to be a complete solution.
I want to share the craziest resolution I just found my experimenting, because all standard stuff did not work.
Background:
* All was working fine for a long time until I started playing BioShock and I picked possibly an incompatible resolution, at least it was for sure not a 25xx resolution. After that, things got wonky.
* I tried everything, from safe-boot to resetting PV/NRAM and SMC, followed by another safe-boot, etc.
* I got it almost back working 100% apart from in the configuration I really needed it: Clamshell mode with 2 external monitors, both on 25xx resolutions. The Dell U3011 just stayed in a lower resolution and would not show any higher value in the list of available resolutions. (I also tried 'Best for display') of course.
* I played with using the Alt button to show more resolutions. It didn't change anything, in fact, I clicked on Best for display while pressing Alt, that action emptied out the list of available resolutions completely. 😟
You will never guess what solved it for me...
In desperation I played with the display orientation, thinking that crazy stuff like that might force some kind of reset. And it did! But I had to do it twice even, first I inclined it by 90 degrees and reverted back. That brought the list from nothing displayed to have 3 resolutions available, the highest one still too low with a 19xx. So I tried that again, this time displaying a 180 degree inverted display, followed by reverting it back.
And then the list of resolutions suddenly showed my belowed 25xx resolution!
It is bizarre that one has to come up with this kind of magic incantations in this day and age.
Hello! Just want to ask about mirroring: when you MIRROR the Retina MBP 15" to your Dell Monitor (2560x1600) : do both the MBP and Dell Monitor look sharp and crisp?
I'm asking because I'm also considering a monitor that's at 2560x1600 that I need to mirror to a Retina MBP 15"
Thanks so much!
