Remount as modem?
Ok I'm new to using a mac and have run into a brick wall when trying to get a T-Mobile USB mobile broadband stick to work on snow leopard.
When the stick is plugged in it runs and installs the T-mobile internet manager, all well and good. The problem starts when I try to connect, all I get is a message saying the device was not detected or is unavailable.
System profiler shows the device mounted as a volume, and the modem does not appear in the network preferences panel. Google throws up plenty of results for using usb_modeswitch in linux to force the USB stick to mount as a modem, but there appear to be no such commands for snow leopard. The stick does not appear in disk utility, so I cannot use that to troubleshoot. Using Terminal I can force the volume to unmount, but I can't find a command to remount it as a modem.
Stick is T-Mobile 150 (rebranded Huawei E1630)
Does anybody have any suggestions that might make this work?
Cheers,
Neil
