Q: SOME KEYS NOT WORKING ON MY G4 1.67

hello, this is my first post so i hope it is in the right place. i have a powerbook g4 and the O and the L keys are not working. i have reset and rebooted and still not working. i can use an external usb keyboard and it runs great. i am told it is the motherboard , but the apple techs said it was more than likely a software issue. any suggestions pleas! thanks

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.

If an external keyboard works fine, it's unlikely it's a logic board issue. It could be a keyboard issue... have the keys been off at all? I was told by an Apple tech if the rubberized material under each key rips for one key, that the keyboard must be replaced.

hello, thanks for the response. there were a few keys that came off so i just had a new keyboard installed and the same keys still do not function.the apple tech went through some things over the phone and nothing worked, he told me to try and re install the o.s to see if that may work. if not he said to go to an apple store and have a tech looka at it. problem is that the nearest store is 2 hours away.i will try the install and see what happens. thanks
