Is there an autotune plugin for garageband?

Hey folks,

I'm wondering if there is an autotune plugin I can get for garageband. I know theres a setting were you can enable automatic tuning to a specific key but I'm looking for something a little more powerful like that "rapist in lincoln park" song that went viral on youtube. I have some audio of a guy just talking and I want to raise and lower the pitch of each word to match a song exactly. How do I have tight control over this in garageband. I've heard of and downloaded an Audio Unit called "VoiceTweaker" but I'm not sure what program the plugin runs in or how to even launch it.

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2), 4 gb ram

yes, "AutoTune," but it's not cheap.

get the AU version, this will teach you how to use AUs:

Thanks,

I found (in garageband) the other AU's and how to use them. But after installing VoiceTweaker ( http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23218/voicetweaker/) I checked the available AU's and it is not added in the list. I also viewed your bullets and bones link which helps me to better understand how to install them and use them but I also looked for and downloaded "autotune" http://www.antarestech.com/download/update.shtml and after installing that, I cannot find that AU in garageband either.

I see my VoiceTweaker.component file in plugin>component folder but I do not see autotune after installing it.

Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

checking your link it says right on the page that it's for PPC only, so it will not work on your intel machine.

according to the readme file, it needs to be authorized:

+Note: You will not be able to launch Auto-Tune 7 until you have completed the authorization process and downloaded your authorization to your iLok smart key.+

*The iLok USB Smart Key*
Authorization (the process by which this software is allowed to permanently run on your computer) is accomplished by the use of an iLok USB smart key. iLok offers the ability to move your license from one computer to another as well as insuring that your license is not susceptible to disk crashes or other computer failures.

If you do not already own an iLok smart key, you will have to purchase one in order to authorize this software. iLoks are available at many music stores that sell computer music gear as well as at a number of online dealers, including the following:

Sweetwater: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/iLok/

iLok.com: http://www.ilok.com

Avid: http://shop.avid.com/store/

This process also requires that you have a user account at ilok.com. If you do not already have an ilok.com account, go to www.ilok.com and establish one before registering your software.

Izotope is a company that makes plugins that can be used in programs like GB. They actually have just released a T-Pain plugin http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/tpaineffect/index.asp that might suite you. 👿
