Belkin wireless usb adapter will not connect wifi from iphone

I just plugged in the belkin Wireless USB adapter into my desktop (windows xp).

though the desktop showed the iphone network in the available wireless network connections, on clicking the connect button it would say "windows unable to connect to network the network may no longer be in range".

The signal is full in strength.

The belking support says that the usb wireless adapters are not designed to work with iphone 4 but only routers.

Anyone has alternate solutions for making desktop connect to iphone wifi.

Well it could be the adapter your using is a N only adapter and the iPhone might be a g only network, usually if that's the case it wouldn't even be able to see the iPhone network then.

Could be a driver issue or XP (it is 9 years old), can you try on a pc using win7? Win7 added some hotspot wifi sharing features that XP doesn't have.

Thx for ur reply. I just checked the model of the USB adapter is Belkin Basic N150.

The xp is able to see and identify the iphone wireless network and shows it in available networks with full signal strength. Once I click on connect then an alert message says that it is detecting network type pls wait. Then another message appears stating that "selected network may be no longer in range. Pls refresh the list and connect again"

As suggested by you I will try it on windows 7.
